Fire/EMS

The Alma/Bacon County Fire Department and EMS are staffed by both professionals and volunteers. Units are Advanced Life Support-equipped and manned 24/7 by paramedics and EMTs. The department has a main station and seven volunteer stations to protect the approximately 285 square miles of Bacon County. The department provides and receives assistance from neighboring counties. The department is rated 5/9 by the Insurance Services Office (ISO).

The Alma/Bacon County Fire Department is partially funded by the City of Alma and under the direction of the Bacon County Board of Commissioners.
